COACH OF THE YEAR PROCEDURES:

 

 

Nominations will be accepted by mail by using the District Coach of the Year nomination form. The form should be mailed or faxed to your district representative by the IHSAA sectional entry deadline. Nominations will also be accepted at the district meeting.

 

DISTRICT COACH OF THE YEAR:

At the District Meeting:

 

1. Member coaches attending will vote on one coach in each class. This will determine the District Class Coach of the Year. Each of these three coaches will receive a certificate at the district meeting.
2. Each of the District Class Coaches of the Year will be voted on to determine a single District Coach of the Year. The District Coach of the Year will receive a certificate from ICGSA and will be an All-Star Coach this year!

 

STATE COACH OF THE YEAR:

At the All-Star Weekend:

 

The name of each of the 5 District Coaches of the Year will be placed on a ballot to be voted on by each Head Coach (or representative) attending the All-Star game. The top vote recipient will be State Coach of the Year and will receive a certificate from the ICGSA Executive Board and a plaque from the softball committee.

 

ALL-STAR COACHES:

Each District Coach of the Year will be an All-Star coach this year. The District Coach of the Year from districts 3,4 & 5 will coach the South team. The District Coaches of the Year from districts 1 & 2 will coach the North team. Districts 1 & 2 will select the next highest vote recipient as a third All-Star coach in alternating years, beginning with district 1 in 2002 and district 2 in 2003. This should coincide with the district that has the extra player each year. All-Star Coaches will receive a plaque at the All-Star Banquet.
